We are proud to be one of the few 4-star rated, dog friendly campsites in the UK, offering a various range of great walks and convenient amenities – pets are welcome at Drummohr and we guarantee your dog will have an equally enjoyable time when you are Edinburgh camping!

For dog owners who love a good walk, finding good walking routes can sometimes be a bit tricky, especially if you want to let your dog run free off the lead. The good news is our dog-friendly campsite in East Lothian, just a few hundred yards from the shores of the Firth of Forth, means there is so much choice. We also have a short dog walk round the Northern perimeter of our dog-friendly Edinburgh campsite, although we request that dogs remain on a short lead in this area.

All the walks featured in our Local Walking Routes are mainly off road and suitable for dog walkers, but you should exercise caution before letting your dog off the lead to ensure that they are not a nuisance to other walkers or local wildlife.

If you fancy venturing a little further afield, you can enjoy a day at the North Berwick coast with your four-legged companion, this takes just 30 minutes maximum to reach by car. All the beaches in East Lothian are dog-friendly, however access to Aberlady Bay is restricted between Easter and September. Therefore, you are spoilt for choice when looking for dog-friendly beaches in East Lothian. Most of us enjoy the feeling of sand beneath our feet, and that’s true for the four-legged friends in our families too. What could be better for your pet than a long run on the beach, chasing the waves and playing fetch with a ball in the water?

Both the Dalkeith Country Park and John Muir Country Park in Dunbar welcome dogs. There are woodlands, grasslands and coastline for a bit variety for your dog and for you. There are also plenty of dog friendly attractions Edinburgh, read our BLOG to find out more about a dog friendly day in Scotland's capital.
